Finished or created entirely on Procreate & iPad Air 4
I was incredibly lucky to be gifted an iPad for my birthday in 2024 and it’s completely changed the way I create. The possibilities with Procreate were a little overwhelming at first, but Domestika courses and Youtube tutorials helped me find my footing. Since then, I’ve made all of my buttons, postcards, zines, and graphics for my website using Procreate. Florals have been a particular favorite since I have more layer control. I’ve also started dabbling in patterns and animation.

Stubborn Postcard – 2025
Stubbornness is my personal strategy. I won’t say it’s the most successful strategy, but it is A strategy.

Always Love Postcard – 2025
Inspired by This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) by Talking Heads. My own personal reminder that even my pursuit of financial freedom is rooted in my desire to provide for and be present with my family. It’s never been about mindless accumulation of wealth, and it will never be. This design features 3 pilea peperomioides (AKA Chinese Money Plant) which is a nod to both my Eastern and Western heritage. This plant is native to China, and believed to bring wealth and good fortune in traditional Feng Shui. In Western astrology, the number 3 is associated with Jupiter which is the planet of expansion and abundance. They are placed around an East facing window at sunrise, symbolizing new beginnings and growth.

What In Carnation Postcard – 2025
We love cringey word play! Doodle is seriously concerned about the size of those carnations..

Free Hugs Postcard – 2025
For my lovers who are a little more rough around the edges! Even the prickliest people need a hug every now and then. It’s free! (if you don’t count the potential for bodily harm)

Take A Chance – 2024
Take a Chance was inspired by the song “Where the Heart Is” by Sweet Pill. They’re a new favorite band of mine, and I found them through this song. At the time, I was questioning whether or not I could do this. My fear of rejection has been the only thing standing in my way for so long, and I felt viciously frustrated with myself for not even trying. This song resonated deeply as I was contemplating going back to a desk job, knowing how empty and depressed it would make me feel.

Slipping Away – 2024
Slipping Away was created as a self-inflicted inkblot test. It was a desperate attempt to combat creative block while also using my tools to gain perspective and self-soothe. I was losing my sense of self and had a hard time keeping my head above water. “Going with the flow” felt impossible. As I was refining it, the song “Slipping Away” by LEISURE came on and it gave me a chuckle. I’m a sucker for little synchronicities like that. Do you ever have moments where you feel seen by the universe in a really small way? If not, I hope you look for them. I promise that they’re there <3

Just Tired – 2025
Just Tired was inspired by the Microwave song “Homebody”. Created at a buddy’s house when I wanted to be social (rare for this homebody) but was having a non-verbal moment. I forced myself to converse because I didn’t want to seem like an asshole for not engaging.. but I’ve noticed that when I force it, I usually end up saying something awkward and embarrassing anyways. I spent the rest of the time on this illustration and when they asked if I was okay, I responded with “yeah, just tired”. I’m still learning how to advocate for myself when I go non-verbal.. for now, I’m grateful for the universal acceptance of the “just tired” excuse. If you’re a fellow neurodivergent and/or occasionally non-verbal human, I feel you. I see your points and hear your grunts. You’re not being rude or inconsiderate. You deserve to be comfortable in communication.

Don’t Panic – 2024
Don’t Panic is an abstract acrylic painting finished digitally, created for my dad. Inspired by Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, his all time favorite sci-fi book. His constant encouragement to keep looking up, both literally and metaphorically, is something I try to hold onto in difficult moments. He’s inspired my love of all things space and sci-fi. He reminds me not to panic, even when I feel like I’m in a total free-fall. Thanks for all the fish, Dad<3 (He has the original, which was finished by hand with a fine-liner in a simpler style, and sans typography

Space Rocks – 2024
Space Rocks is a multi-media illustration I created last year. I used my son’s colored pencils and dried out markers, and then transferred it to Procreate to adjust the color balance and saturation. I also added line work and highlights to bring out all the Doods. Can you find them all?
This piece is inspired by my love of both outer and personal space. The catch, though, is that both are vacuums. If you’re not mindful, you might drift too far.

Resist – 2025
Created after Trump’s second inauguration. Inspired by Hugh’s declaration in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Resistance is never futile, no matter how powerful the enemy may be.
